VMSC Extravaganza
By: Web Editor
Taking place at the Sports Connexion Centre in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, the Vintage Motor Scooter Club’s annual Extravaganza is an event not to be missed.
This show always provides a variety of historical machines outside of the normal Lambretta and Vespa offerings and it gives an insight into the historical importance of vintage scooters. The VMSC claimed to have 30 scooters making their show debut at this event and the overall quality of the restorations was well in evidence.
The usual parts fair (held in the same hall) was bustling from the moment that the doors opened with punters hunting for that elusive bargain. As the early morning rush of the eager crowd started to subside around midday, it was then again boosted by the arrival of the now well-established ‘ride-in’, organised by the AONSC and other midland scooter clubs. It was impossible to count the number of scooters in the car parks, but suffice to say that the area was packed to the point of overflowing.
This event always seems to be graced with good weather and this year was no exception and for those who had already taken in the custom show and parts fair were able to mingle outside in glorious sunshine, talking about all things scooter-related. Another very successful and well organised event for the VMSC, who seem to be going from strength to strength.
