Time marches on
By: Web Editor
The Bridlington Rally and the changing of the UK clocks to winter time signal the end of the season. However, all is not lost for those who still need their regular scooter fix, as there are several events and parts fairs still to take place in the run-up to Christmas. So you needn’t despair, there’s still plenty going on to tide you over until next season.
My mention of Bridlington leads me on to an apology, because the way circumstances have worked out, I’ve had to close this issue earlier than normal. This means, that although you are reading this edition after the Bridlington National has taken place, the magazine actually went to the printers before.
Although traditionally we’d normally be in a position to let you know in this issue when next year’s major events are taking place, I’m afraid that isn’t so for this year. However, all is not lost; if you go to our website at www.scooteristscene.com you should be able to find all the information.
In typical magazine fashion, a last-minute incident has led us to possibly the oldest UK registered Lambretta ever discovered. We couldn’t leave that out, could we?, so we’ve squeezed and juggled articles around to get that one in.
This time around our cover shot is slightly unusual; just in case you hadn’t worked it out, the picture is of John Carter’s Lambretta Series 1 Framebreather (or Annetta as he calls it). John’s scooter is just one of a variety of features in this issue, so there should be something for everyone.
I’m not going to be around much over the next few weeks so any correspondence sent to me may encounter a delayed reply. I’ll respond as soon as I can.
