roadhug.org road safety campaign launches by organising a motorcycleride out to an iconic London location.
By: Mau Spencer
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s road safety initiative ROADHUG.ORG is set to launch its latest campaign following the recently published figures from Transport for London, which show a 4% London-wide decrease in casualties involving motorcycles and scooters.
The campaign, ‘Helmet On, Radar On’, is due to run for four weeks from Monday 7th November. It will incorporate a viral video to bring key messaging to life, as well as various advertising and PR elements helping to increase awareness of road safety.
To introduce the campaign, ROADHUG.ORG is hosting an open event for motorcycle riders on Chelsea Bridge, London.
Since the 1950s, Chelsea Bridge has been a favourite meeting place for motorcyclists from across London. In the past the bridge has been the scene of confrontation and illegal racing, however more friendly gatherings are now the norm.
With support from local motorcycle and scooter groups such as the Ace Cafe and LondonBikers, ROADHUG.ORG invites riders to join them for breakfast at the iconic location on Saturday 5th November at 10.30am.
On the day ROADHUG.ORG will be supplying goodie bags containing stickers, flyers, press releases and backpack covers.
Members from Bikesafe, the Police’s national further training course, will also be in attendance.
The ROADHUG.ORG campaign has also teamed up with the Honda Ron Haslam Racing School located at the magnificent track at Silverstone. ROADHUG.ORG and the Ron Haslam School are giving away three tailored motorcycle experience track days. The three track day prizes will offer the winners the experience of riding on an international racing circuit, an introduction to high performance bikes and the opportunity to improve your skills and understand the finer points of riding.
