It’s that time of the year!
By: Web Editor
As I’m writing this, it looks as though spring has finally arrived. The birds are singing, the sun is shining – could winter finally be over? It certainly looks as though it’s almost time to get your scooter out of the shed after the long, hard winter.
With the anticipation of planning your riding season, we thought it would be a good time to offer you some tips and technical advice on ‘How to survive your scooter season’ in a special feature. We all get swept along in the excitement being back on the road and out on the scooter circuit, so hopefully it will help you to minimise the chances of falling into the normal scooterist traps.
Sticking with the subject of advice, there’s been a lot of confusion and misconceptions over the introduction of CIE (Continuous Insurance Enforcement). VMSC stalwart, Brian Crook, has investigated this thoroughly and hopefully his report inside will help clear up any of your queries.
The picture on the cover of this issue shows Christian Wheeldon astride his restored Vespa GS150. The project has been a bit of a labour of love over the last few years to get it to this stage and he still has a few minor things to address, but it’s a stunning-looking machine that he should be (and is) proud of. You can read more about it inside.
If you didn’t enter our Corazzo Clothing Competition in the last issue, then this will be your last chance. Like all our competitions, it doesn’t cost anything to have a go and you could end up winning £400 worth of clothing. So I suggest you enter now.
That’s about it from me. I expect I’ll come into contact with some of you at various points during the season, so maybe we’ll get a chance to talk at some point.
