First Scooter Shindig!

I put the recent increase in organisation down to the maturity of the club and a need to pull our collective fingers out! So date set, venue and DJ (cheers Russ!) booked, flyers made, ads placed and that was that – SL'n'LSC’s first Scooter Shindig!

Usual thoughts of dread disappeared as taxis and mini-buses, laden with this country’s finest, arrived, greeted by Rich ‘the friendly doorman’. Claire and Julie attached wristbands and in no time the place was buzzing with people chatting or strutting their stuff on the dance floor. Fantastic!

There were opportunities for me to soak up the atmosphere (while annoying everyone with the camera) of smiling, laughing people everywhere, meeting with old friends and catching up with new friends. A big shout for Sarah, who was darting around selling raffle tickets, which raised £150 for The Severn Hospice. Raffle drawn and Russ had the dance floor busy again until the very end.

Thank you to everyone who made the night unforgettable. A big shout to The Severnside Lions SC, Warrington SC, North Shropshire SC, Telford Tigers SC, Humbugs SC and everyone who came or helped, especially Claire, Rich, Julie, Sarah, Davie, Rob, John, Mandy and Leigh. We get there... eventually.
