DON NOYS, RIP
2 February 2012
Scooter sport legend, Don Noys passed away on December 23, after a long battle against cancer. His funeral service took place in Brisbane on December 30, 2011. See issue 84 of CSS magazine (on sale March 21, 2012) for a full report.

Scooters stolen in Hampshire

Darren Williams had all four of his scooters stolen from his garage in Hartley Wintney, Hants (between Basingstoke and Camberley) on January 11, 2012.

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) has posted a petition on the UK government website to register the group’s concern over the French and Irish Governments’ decision to mandate high visibility clothing for bike riders.
DVLA to close licensing centres

It has been announced by the Roads Minister, Mike Penning, that 1,200 staff at all 39 Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency centres in the UK will lose their jobs by 2013. Their role will supposedly be centralised at the HQ site in South Wales and make access to DVLA services 'easier and quicker'.
Classic vehicle tax petition

IMCO vote on Type Approval legislation

The European Parliament's Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) voted in Brussels recently on its report on the proposal for a regulation on the approval and market surveillance of two- and three-wheelers and quadricycles.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s road safety initiative ROADHUG.ORG is set to launch its latest campaign following the recently published figures from Transport for London, which show a 4% London-wide decrease in casualties involving motorcycles and scooters.
