There are many dangers encountered riding on two wheels and perhaps more so in a rural location. Things you don’t expect can catch you out; I’ve been hit in the face by a low flying duck (I can hear you laughing now), but you’ll be happy to know it flew away unharmed, albeit protesting noisily and all I suffered was a scratched visor. A friend of mine also recently suffered around £200 damage to his scooter after an encounter with a pheasant. Sometimes you never know quite what to expect.

New venue

Chelmsford SC have confirmed that the all-new ‘Winter Warmer’ will take place at Pontins Pakefield, just south of Lowestoft, Suffolk over the weekend of the 6-9 November. The site is halfboard only and has a capacity of 1200 on what is described as a ‘quality centre’ for special events.

There will be a specially reduced price available between now and the Camber Sands Scooter Weekend. Join the mailing list at thewinterwarmer@aol.com for more information. Also announced by Chelmsford SC is that all monies raised from this years Camber Sands T-shirt sales will be donated to the Italian Earthquake Appeal, in association with 3-Stroke Productions, while the rideout will be in aid of Help for Heroes.
